Rob Wheelock joined Alliance Tax Advisors in January 2013, bringing with him decades of real estate experience and a wealth of client and industry knowledge. His penchant for building relationships and his standing as a respected member of the real estate community have made him a valuable asset in expanding ATA’s client base and building the mutually beneficial, trust-based relationships on which the company thrives.
Rob began his career in real estate as a property owner in the early 1980s after receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech. He soon opted to get his real estate license and spent the next 20 years involved in various aspects of that business.
In 2005, having gained a great deal of experience in the industry, Rob became part of the first group of individuals to serve as arbitrators for the Texas State Comptroller’s Office. In this role, he has helped to resolve tax disputes between property owners and appraisal districts throughout the state. Drawn to property tax consulting for the win-win result it provides his clients, he began to apply the insights he gained as an arbitrator to help property owners lower their tax bills.
Outside of the office, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, playing golf or racing his sailboat. He serves as the cameraman for his church’s broadcast service and has dedicated many hours to volunteer work with Hope Cottage, a not-for-profit adoption agency in Dallas.
